Yaz and Yasmin Lawyers Unite To Ease Financial Stress

Many women have suffered serious side effects from taking the birth control pill Yaz or Yasmin. Nearly identical in chemical composition, Yaz and Yazmin have been linked to strokes, heart attacks and even death. If you or a loved one has experienced; leg cramps, a Charlie horse, or sudden loss of breath and are using Yaz or Yasmin, you may need medical attention immediately.
Yaz/Yasmin, the top selling birth control pill in the U.S. is designed primarily to prevent pregnancy. However, Yaz/Yasmin has been marketed aggressively to women via television commercials as a treatment or cure for symptoms related to menstruation, acne and muscle cramps. Bayer HealthCare pharmaceutical s, the maker of Yaz/Yazmin has been advised to change its ads by the FDA due to misleading information. 27 attorneys general have joined the FDA in a complaint along with 32 lawsuits.
The danger in Yaz/Yasmin, stems from the synthetic hormone DRSP (Drospirenone). DRSP increases the potassium levels in users which are dangerous for people with Kidney, Adrenal or liver disease. High potassium levels can also cause serious heart conditions changes in acidity in the body and muscle weakness.
We work with ten different law firms that are evaluating claims on behalf of individuals throughout the United States who have taken Yaz/Yasmin and suffered serious side effects including; heart/cardiovascular problems, hypertension, gallbladder disease, benign liver tumors, diabetes, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), thromobophlebitis (vein inflammation from a blood clot), pulmonary embolism (PE), stroke, heart attack (myocardial infarction), cerebral hemorrhage (brain trauma) and death. We are dedicated to helping those who have been affected exercise their legal rights.
If you or a loved one suffered serious injury or a loved one died after taking Yaz/Yasmin you may be entitled to financial compensation.  It is important to act quickly to ensure investigations of injuries and death are conducted before the statute of limitations expires and you lose your rights to compensation. You will be able to choose from one of our 10 firms to represent your case.

Yaz Side Effects

Yaz Side Effects

If you are among the growing number of young women that look to Yaz as their contraceptive of choice, then you should make a point of learning the Yaz side effects. You should also become familiar with a few specifics about clinical trials. During the clinical trial for most drugs or medical devices, one group of subjects is treated with the test drug/device, and a second group gets a placebo (a sugar pill or a fake device).

However, whenever a pharmaceutical or medical equipment company needs to conduct a clinical trial on some sort of contraceptive, it can not use any sort of placebo. If it followed that route, then large numbers of women would be impregnated during the course of one clinical trial. Therefore, all information about the side effects associated with any one contraceptive must be learned through trial and error, i.e. through watching for possible side effects as various women try the newly introduced contraceptive.

In other words, once you have purchased and used Yaz you have allowed yourself to serve as a “guinea pig.” You could have to deal with minor side effects such as headaches, diminished sex drive, weight gain, increased appetite, bleeding between periods or nausea and vomiting. More alarming however, are the serious side effects that you could suffer.

If you note swelling of the legs, chest pain, vision changes or severe migraines, you must pay heed. Those could be signs of a blood clot. You should contact us to help determine if you have a valid claim against the manufacturer.

Yaz Lawsuits

Yasmin is an oral contraceptive used to prevent ovulation. Also known as Yaz, it has been on the market in the United States since 2001 and prescribed to millions of women. Recently, major side effects have been made public and call into question the safety of this drug. Many of these cardiovascular problems have been linked to women that are overweight, smokers, or have a history of heart problems in their family but have also been seen in women with no risk factors. Though the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) has required the manufacturer, Bayer Healthcare, to issue warnings due to misleading television commercials, the medication is still on the market despite the cardiovascular issues the taking the drug may present.

Side effects to watch for include:
• Sudden weight gain when no other lifestyle changes are made
• High blood pressure, or hypertension, that was not previously present
• Chest pains or tightness in the chest
• High cholesterol due to atherosclerosis which has caused angina
• Stroke due to blocked arteries from high blood pressure
• Heart attacks of any kind, whether mild or severe
• Death of a family member who had used Yasmin in the past

If you experience any of these side effects or have a family member whose death you suspect was related to Yasmin use, stop taking Yasmin and immediately consult your doctor. The consequences of using Yasmin should also be discussed with an attorney that specializes in medical personal injury cases who can explain your rights.

Lawsuit Alleges Yasmin Side Effects Responsible for Several Deaths

Recent reports implicate the medication in serious health concerns for women who are consistently taking Yasmin. Reports of complications such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, stroke and in some cases death resulting from these complications. Additionally, patients taking this medication could be at a higher risk for Yasmin side effects if they have preexisting conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney or liver impairment.

While there has been no official Yasmin recall, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned Bayer AG that the advertising campaign for Yasmin and Yaz were misleading, namely that the ads suggested a broad useage of the medication, minimized potentially serious side effects, and overstated the efficacy of the pill. Twice have letters been sent to Bayer AG, and once has Bayer AG been ordered to correct its ads, costing the company a total of $20 million. Bayer AG is also under obligation to submit future ad campaigns to the FDA for approval before it launches them in the U.S.

One of the causes for concerns to patients taking the medication a chemical known as DRSP (drospirenone). This ingredient is what makes Yasmin and Yaz chemically different from other combination oral contraceptives. However, this is the ingredient that can raise your potassium level.the high levels of potassium that can accrue in a person’s body after taking the medication for some time. High potassium levels in the blood can be dangerous for persons who are obese, diabetic, or who have chronically high blood pressure.

Since the launch of Yasmin and Yaz, Bayer has reported sales estimated in the billions of dollars. It was reported as one of the highest earning drugs manufactured by the Bayer AG Corporation over the past few years.
